2025-06-16 12:39:39 +0000 UTCSomething important to note, and this is not a spoiler for the manga. Oda does a little section in the manga volume releases called "sbs" where he answers fan questions. Over twelve years ago, someone asked him to draw the worst generation as opposite genders. The male version of bonney he drew looks suspiciously like shanks (you can look up "Bonney as a man" on google to see it, no manga spoilers will show up). Back then no one thought nothing of it and chalked it up to Oda's artsyle making characters look alike. But fast foward twelve years later knowing what we know about shanks potential father, Figarland Garling would make a lot of sense as the celestial dragon who requested to take in Ginny, thus being Bonnys real father. It would be crazy if this were true as no one would have expected Bonney to somehow be related to shanks based off that original drawing, but for all we know this is one big coincidence and oda never ends up revealing Bonnys father lol.
