2025-06-11 09:22:04 +0000 UTChmm. i feel like this doesn’t make him a good guy, though. i actually think him utilizing this point is very manipulative. 😭 in fact, he was doing the same thing that was done to his (and black) people — just in another form / roundabout way. using sammy’s gift for his own personal gain because at its core, he wanted to connect with *his* ancestors above all else. building a community was just a bonus. i think he believes these things that you’re saying, but that doesn’t necessarily make him a nice guy. especially not with the actions he’s taken in the movie. i feel like that was the point.

2025-06-09 01:21:34 +0000 UTCOne of the ways this movie is such a masterpiece is that the villain isn't actually a bad guy. He genuinely wants to stop the racism and make a new, " Peaceful " race. He was right. Black people can never climb up and they'll always keep being set up and kicked back down by the racist bigots. But He's trying to give them true happiness and a true family. Crazy how vampires are more tolerant and less evil than regular humans.
