For the sister it's the weight of expectations, as both the first child and the one who is living out her mother's dream of going to college in Seoul and being independent. While the son is facing the challenge of always having to live in his sister's shadow and always fighting for his parent's approval. Because when you have a sibling who got into a top university and got an office job, he feels like he doesn't have a means of his own to help his parents. Gwan-Sik and Ae-sun did their best and worst as parents, and I feel the show does a good job highlighting both the good and bad aspects that young and older parents face.

2025-03-31 05:34:44 +0000 UTCi was with you about being the youngest and not the favorite bc i can relate and usually they only show the opposite in dramas but i don’t think geummyeong is a brat at all! jerry n em all love to call her that but she shouldered a lot growing up in poverty and the pressure to do well as the eldest was hard on her as well. she’s just a little rough around the edges bc she can’t express herself well but you can see she has sm love and empathy for her parents!

She was treated like a princess and praised for everything, she was never called out for anything and she became bratty and spoiled.
