Fun fact correct me if I’m wrong, Park Bo Gum (Gwan Sik) was in the Navy when he was in the military and behind the scenes of when he jumped in the ocean, he actually swam all that so it wasn’t fake or anything.

2025-03-19 13:50:13 +0000 UTCmmm, i think you guys are making points on both ends of the conversation. he didn’t like sports, but was good at them — that’s a fact. he *told* ae-sun in busan when she asked if he’d miss it that he was never good anyway, but that was a lie. she found out his ranking after the whole runaway ordeal occurred; and since he never spoke about sports much and always let her talk about poetry (as she mentioned during the conversation with the mom), ae-sun took that as confirmation of her holding him back. another example of this in her mind probably, was him saying during their runaway that she can get her ged while he works in the factory. rob is right in the fact that he was always down. he didn’t like sports but decided if it could make a life for them both, he’d pursue it. ae-sun didn’t know that was his reasoning for doing it though; and i also believe the things she was saying about having lived her entire life in shame during the field scene were true. she really felt that way. so, she had a mind of dragging him down to “her level.” i think that line of thinking makes sense especially for the situation and timeframe that they’re in, as wellz pointed out. really is kinda just a heap of undiscussed info between the two that led to that situation really lol. sorry for the yap, i love this show (,:
