2025-03-18 00:42:51 +0000 UTCSince that video we got quite a lot new lore about War in Heaven. And yeah, Necrontyr even if they would get immortality from Old ones would proooobably become their enemies. Necrontyr were already INSANELY advanced and in terms of just pure technology actually more advanced than Old ones(thought Necrontyr had 0 connection to warp so they couldnt use warp in any way... and Old ones were absolute master of it). Another thing is they were very expansionists and colonized huge part of galaxy even with their short lives. So old ones probably just feared that if they take away only weakness Necrontyr had they would not stand a chance. At that point they wouldnt even need a C'tan to help them. And also, first C'tan that they contact with, was at first mistranslated as "Messenger" and he told Szarekh about his way of giving Necrontyr immortality. But his true name was reaveled later after biotransference... it was "Deciever". So yeah... if their translator messed BIG TIME. And while they got technically their immortality... they didnt know they will lose their free will and souls at that time. Only after it was done Silent King saw what he had done. And since then his 65 million of years of "living" is focused on one goal... reversing biotransference and saving his race. And no C'tan were not some innocent beings... they were VERY malicious... i mean one of them literally imprinted fear of death in every being in existence(except orks...because they are orks) after he sloughter countless numbers of races across millions of years. You can argue they were not like that at the start as they were just like force of nature, gods of reality. But once they got taste of souls... it was completely different.
