He had expected the undead pirates to row out of the cave and for the Dauntless crew to be able to slow them down with the canons to buy Will and himself time to undo the curse. Jack never meant for the slaughter that happened on the Dauntless, besides if he had told Norrington about thee pirates being undead, he wouldn't have been believed, they didn't believe Elizabeth after all. Oooh and if you are going to maybe be watching the other movies,.. I would recommend watching some of the deleted scenes of Jack to get a better understanding of his character, if you're interested... Sorry I'll shut up now
