Glinda is complex she doesn’t see things the way Elphaba does because she grew up privileged and entitled while Elphaba didn’t and you can say she was desperate to be seen by people like the wizard and mentored by them as well but Elphaba is the only one who saw real potential in Glinda which is why she became friends with her

2025-06-22 21:42:45 +0000 UTCNessarose is an absolutely garbage sister and horrible person, but Galinda/Glinda is the villain (well, the overarching villain of Oz, though it is the Wizzard and Morrible who are the main villains of Wicked part 1). The only semi redeeming quality of Galinda/Glinda is her "friendship" with Elphaba, which was heavily one sided. Galinda only entered into that "friendship" because Elphaba basically handed Galinda her heart's desire, to join Morrible's sorcery seminar. Then, once they got to the Emerald city and saw haw corrupt and evil both the wizard and Morrible were, Glinda gaslights and abandons Elphaba to side with the fascists immediately after they publicly insult and vilify Elphaba. Regarding the Harry Potter remake, I am excited for it! The movies were successful, but as a book lover, the movies heavily butchered the books, so I hope the series does a better job. I love Snape, he is 1 of my top 2 favorite characters, but he is a fictional character, so I don't understand why people are crying about him being black in the series. There was a character that was race swapped from the book to the movie (and musical); Fiyero! In the book he was a black man with blue tattoos all over his body, yet no one is crying about original content inconstancy...
