These LOTR reactions are just painful to watch and I need to stop here, the CGI is better than hard working people in costumes in what world?! The producers of Hobbit literally said they had to use CGI because they didn't have more time but they didn't said it in a proud way because it's not, the orcs and Legolas look like characters in a video game, it's obvious that they are fake... No real fan of fantasy or even action in general would say that CGI is better the people actually doing it. You all seem to like more Hobbit than LOTR for this reason and it's just cringe, Hobbit was good but LOTR it's simply legendary, the people talked for years after it came out, they literally made up this world. Not to mention that you all seem tired or bored.

So They do close ups on most people in these movies when shorter characters are around because it’s easier to work around the height differences between the characters that way. 2025-01-02 02:20:08 +0000 UTCDune the movie only is as complicated as it is because of lord of the rings proving that book adaptations can work and lore heavy long movies can be made. Also remember you only get 1/5 of the context from the book. in the books every mainline king pretty much has some lore, generations of history, ages even. it has been greatly shortened in order to make the movie watchable for new viewers. these movies lore wise are merely an intro to the world. For example there's two elf languages a whole story and reasoning behind why the elves use a certain language vs using the other one. Dune is a great heavy lore series but it has waaaaaaaay less to it than the tolkien world. the story that aragorn talked about in fellowship of the elf and human relationship alone is a whole story.

Also y'all completely missed that in the last Hobbit movie, Legolas's dad told him to go west and find a young man known as "strider" aka Aragorn.

Sauron is another lieutenant thats now taken over in morgoths absence. Balrogs are maiar which is the same tier of being as gandalf and sauron (sauron is like the strongest of that class of being). Morgoth corrupted certain maiar souls which then turned them into balrogs. so this is some real Angel vs Demon level shit and gandalf is usually capped at power like the soul society characters in the arrancar arc in bleach

In the hobbit everybody is just invincible in every fight while these feel grounded and gritty with also great choreography too but Legolas is not doing insane things that can’t be touched where the stakes are gone

They are from beings called the Maiar, who are like the arch angels of the whole mythology. The god of the universe, Eru Illuvitar, did not allow them to use their power to directly influence the world, only to guide humanity. This caused them to not be their true selves when they are Wizards, which is why Gandalf seemed to not know certain things. He literally didnt fully remember his true nature when he was Gandalf the Grey. It's why Saruman is such a problem because he aligned himself with Sauron and defied those orders from Eru Illuvitar. The Balrog, which is the big fire thing that Gandalf fought, is of a subspecies that are from the same species as Gandalf and Saruman, but were corrupted by Morgoth, Sauron's master and the first Dark Lord. They are like arch demons basically. Again, Gandalf is OP as hell if he could use his true power.
