Isn’t this point up to debate, as guts doesn’t really have a dream and Griffith would only see someone who has a dream like his as his equal and friend?

The thing is, guts doesn't need a dream or him (griffith) to keep going, Griffith actually admires and loves guts a lot, just like guts loves him. Sadly, guts didn't realize he was talking about him when he was talking about the man that would be his friend, he was already his friend.

In this episode they made it look a little wierd, yes if any witnesses saw guts he would kill on sight but with the whole adonis kill, they made it look like guts saw the kids face and everything and didnt care and just went for the kill and then held the hand. But in the manga everything in the room was dark so when adonis came in it was just a shadowy figure that saw him. Guts realises its adonis after he stabbed him out the room where its bright and then realises its a kid which is why he held his hand and felt like shit because it wasnt on purpose.
