Same thing he did to Ichigo's mom. These Quincies we see here are the only ones that survived the process, they managed to dodge the blue beam of light in time, they dodged the Auswählen. Unlike normal Quincies, Yhwach cannot absorb reishi, but he can do the opposite, he can give his own reishi away to another person and then he can take it back. There's a minimum time requirement before he can take it back, it varies from person to person, sometimes it's months, other times it can be years before he can take back his own reishi from within another person. When he takes it back, he also takes away all special powers that person has, plus it kills that person instantly. So yeah, they're pretty upset.

It basically forcibly takes back the power he gave to the quincy. which for a majority of the quincy left in soul society meant instant death. Its not being salty they didnt get to go with him its more like ywach showed that they really only exist to be emergency power for ywach and as long as hes around there never safe.

But that doesn’t mean the Hogyoku isn’t making him stronger. His last evolution was losing his butterfly form and fusing with his zanpakuto. Aizen lost because ichigo was a lot stronger than him and weakened his power (as kisuke stated) so much he could no longer evolve physically as the Hogyoku requires power to make will a reality. So aizen had the will, that was evident from his rage and demeanor, he simply didn’t have the power. Since I assume it amps him relative to his will, the damage he takes and aizens own power. Ichigos analysis of aizen is simply his own speculation and it goes against aizens entire plot, being one based on existentialism and shikai Yamamoto was stronger than base/shikai aizen as he said, so why didnt he lose the will then? nor did he know how strong squad 0 were compared to his power. So it doesn’t really add up to say he lost the will due to being at the top, since he never was.
