2024-10-20 02:34:53 +0000 UTCI could be wrong, but if I remembered correctly Brad Dourif's Chucky voice from the child's play franchise was based on Jack Nicholson.

2024-10-19 21:15:52 +0000 UTCNever seen this and wanted to get to this because of the “ Here is Johnny” scene. This is not scary lmao. It’s literally a domestic violence movie

2024-10-19 14:37:29 +0000 UTCJack Nicholson and The Cinematography were the best part of this movie. All we have at the end is Theories and Speculation of what it all means which could be good in concept but just didn't land in actuality. Overrated 4.5/10 movie at best.

2024-10-19 04:17:57 +0000 UTCi understand everyone has their own opinion and i appreciate the honesty but damn the disrespect was craaaazy and to the beautiful shelley duvall RIP 🧡 the length of the film is essential i find because it puts you in that incredibly isolated long period of time watching jack slowly descent into madness. unlike other new horrors it doesn’t rely on predictable jump scares and loud noises or darkness it’s definitely more psychological and while it doesn’t necessarily scare me, the thought of losing your mind or your partner losing their mind trying to chop you and your son up chasing you with an axe is one of the most horrifying things anyone could ever experience so i think i would be acting exactly like wendy in the scenario just so weak almost paralysed with fear but doing anything to stay alive but also reason with him because he’s your husband and father of your child. anyway i think the acting is incredible, cinematography, score, location, everything. it’s so iconic and always will be and there’s only a handful of horror films in that boat. this is one of my all time faves 😁🤝

2024-10-19 01:39:53 +0000 UTCThis movie is not going to resonate with younger crowds because of what we have seen in recent horror films. When this movie came out it was scary as hell for it’s time

2024-10-19 00:53:20 +0000 UTCTo the couches credit Stephen King didn't like this movie, I can also understand how if someone who doesn't fully understand this movie might think its a bad movie.

2024-10-19 00:36:23 +0000 UTCThis movie isn't bad, it's not my favorite story to be adapted from Stephen Kings works but with that being said I do enjoy some of it. The most unsettling thing to me in this movie will forever be the man in the dog costume that shows up at random, the scene just shows up out of no where and its dead silent when you see it. This movie is a slow burn and where most go into it thinking they're going to be scared it's more of a supernatural mystery movie with an element of a thriller. So if that's not your cup of tea I can see how many would see this movie as lack luster, over all it's a strange movie that I enjoy revisiting every couple of years.

2024-10-18 22:13:44 +0000 UTCI mean the movie is visually stunning but he is right the movie took away a lot of the supernatural elements the book had and they killed dick off for no reason luckily doctor sleep fixed and addresses the questions from the shining

2024-10-18 15:47:43 +0000 UTCEarly in the movie there's a moment when the doctor is asking about 'Tony', if you notice in the background there's a book or something of a Tiger 'peeking' at the conversation taking place. You might not think anything about it but if you focus on it as the conversation is happening you'll notice that this Tiger character is 'hiding' behind another book in one shot and 'peeking' around the book in another. It's very clever. I'm not sure where I heard this theory from but every time this scene comes up I have to share it with somebody cuz it's super creepy and intentional filmmaking. You'll also notice Danny looking over in that direction as if 'Tony' is over there...

2024-10-18 15:03:00 +0000 UTCFun fact Stephen King hates this movie, bcz the story is very personal to him with him baseing the father on himself in the bookss. The book is about how he slowly goes insane but is able to resist it like Stephen kings own issues with alchol and drugs, but with the movie going another route it's why he hates it.

2024-10-18 14:52:54 +0000 UTCFun fact: Stephen King hates the ending to this movie as its very different from the book
