2024-10-21 00:08:21 +0000 UTCHe said before that even though he found himself in food and this business, he “enjoys” it in some regard, he also did it as a fuck you to the ppl who tried to son him (his family). In 3x1 we saw where some of his drive came from as well. Part of this is clearly because he needs to feel something + have some sort of control since he fucked things up with Claire. Like “hey look, I’m doing something so ambitious and I’m gonna be successful in it because I lost something/someone. This is all I have.”

2024-10-20 17:00:16 +0000 UTCone thing about carmen is that hes the chef he shouldnt be changing shit out front, rich works the front almost everyday overseeing all the waitstaff and flow of customers so hed know what works and what doesnt compared to carmy who nevers leave the kitchen, carmy's table arrangements should work according to what he theoretically knows but theory and real life are two different things and richies the one whos seeing the real life since carmy wont leave the kitchen and sometimes theory and real life dont match, its like people from the head office coming in to a factory and critiscing how things are done without getting to know why things are done that way

2024-10-19 03:27:50 +0000 UTCi can see where you’re coming from, and why you view it this way as someone who is a boss irl, but to me personally - in this specific scenario it kinda does all boil down to his delivery (as you mentioned) and consideration. i don’t think anyone would have any issue with there being changes had he actually communicated that’s something he wanted to do and then worked their way to being implemented. instead he changed everything overnight for - let’s be real - the sake of some sort of emotional torrent. 😭 maybe that’s also why i have an issue with it because it’s not even deeply rooted in being something he actually wants to achieve. he’s doing it because he had a fucked up night and it seems his way of making up for it. this isn’t me hating, trust. i love carmy as a character, but this was wild. especially because syd is his partner. you can’t even give your partner the decency of letting her know before changing things around without input ? and then setting it in complete stone. *then* asking her to sign a partnership agreement in the same conversation ?! so yeah, heavy on the last bit you said about communication. lmao ! i’m rambling but you get it.

2024-10-18 21:06:31 +0000 UTCHe's wildin with his delivery but also Syd is the one who was asking for a star and Carmy (probably rightfully) feels like he knows what needs to be done if they're going to get there, so in a roundabout way, this is actually Syd getting what she asked for. I run a team of people myself and they know that if I'm telling them to do something it's for their own good and they're welcome to question me or put in their input but at the end of the day what I say goes. If they don't like it they can go somewhere else, but there's a cost to being excellent, so don't tell me you want to be great but not be willing to do something that seems crazy. The problem to me is that Syd and Carmy haven't found their language for properly communicating to each other. I think Rob is right in a lot of ways.

2024-10-17 19:27:30 +0000 UTCrob . . this is a huge change, huh ? 😭 carmy just re did their entire menu overnight that - not to mention - he was barely around for the creation of last season (when he was supposed to be helping syd with said menu). they may just be opening but work was put in to make opening night run smoothly. he’s completely jumping the gun. you can be the boss all day, but if you’re not a good one it doesn’t amount to anything because at the end of the day it’s the people under you that keep things running smoothly as well. you even said it was weird his switch up from not caring about the star to suddenly going so hard for it. remember that and think about why that is. basically i think carmen’s wildin lmao !
