I feel like you didn’t read Bleach if this is your take. This fight is a continuation of the last season where Squad 0 and Royal Guard had many back and forths. Yhwach couldn’t unleash his full power until now which is HIS natural ability as he’s the son of the Soul King. Ep 26 has them fighting back and forth. No you can’t if you read the novels, Squad 0 is important. Ichibei is the evil one here, he represents stagnation, Yhwach represents Evolution. Kubo will showcase this in this new season by showcasing the line between good and evil becoming even more vague, also stated Ichibei may be in it more from additions.

I wouldn't compare Ichigo and Uryu to Naruto and Sasuke. Its a very different dynamic. They were friendly rivals at best before this arc began and they didn't have a proper fight in the manga this arc, so if they do fight it will be anime original. Meanwhile Naruto and Sasuke were setup as rivals from the very beginning and that dynamic was reinforced over and over until their final fight that settled everything. The only similarity is that Sasuke and Uryu have the same VA that's it. Uryu has a reason for doing this and its almost certainty a rational one, unlike Madara's selfie stick.
