2024-09-25 17:02:06 +0000 UTCThis is definitely one of the older horror movies that you can only truly appreciate if you watched it around the 80's or 90's. Watching it now, people just think it's funny or bad. It's a classic, a great one and it has so many things that today's horror movies lack. However, it can feel cheesy, terribly acted at points (and amazingly acted at others, ie. Donald Pleasance as Dr. Loomis), because it was made in the 70's. It's one of my favorites because of the atmosphere, the score and notes hitting at all the right moments, the fact that Carpenter relied on tension to get us through. The way it was shot was incredible.
