Saul isnt their dad or uncle i think hes close friends or dating their mum. Anddd its not confirmed but 90 percent sure their mom has mental issues and alcoholism usually worsens those issues and the bad thing about it is that people cant even say normal phrases like "are you okay" because theyll get verbally abused and these households become places where people are scared to be themselves because of these type of people

Made it seem like Lee has also been trying to use the mom because she is f ed up and Michal saw that and didn’t mess with it. Their cousin Michelle really did him a solid by allowing him to escape all of this and make something of himself only problem being that he ended up in the same type of chaos but just in the kitchen. I truly think he thrives in it because he doesn’t know a time when there wasn’t any. Like during the first season he talks about being scared to death to talk half the time growing up and not having friends. A direct result of living in the household he was brought up in with a mentally unstable mother.
