Dog there is no way that you actually like the ending of this arc. Acnologia and Zeref had some of the best character build-up in the show, all to get easily beaten the second Natsu says "BUT I FIGHT FOR MY FRIENDS!!"

Yeah we don't even get a proper explanation on what haki people have. It's was always just assumed. Even by looking at all SBS. Even more questions: DOES ANYONE EVEN KNOW HOW TO TURN A BLADE BLACK? And why only 2 blades were shown when we got characters like Rogers and Whitebeard? Why didn't we get more explanation of the world from Vegapunk. Where did the fruits come from? Why is haki a thing? I was hoping for something in Wano from Kaido or Big Mom but Vegapunk definitely said something. Why didn't Franky get more time with Vegapunk? Why did Nami hit the kid in Arlong park but can't hit kids later? How did we just discover that Fujitora has a supreme blade? Why did Oden's swords shrink? How are most of the Strawhats alive? These are a few examples (not the best) off the top of my head this story has a lot of problems if you go back and look at it objectively. The story wasn't supposed to go on this long and it shows.

Ok but give examples of fights in OP that gives substance. And that isn't just a war that the crew has nothing to do with. The characters are there but it lacks meaning behind the fights. Theyre two separate things. You can't even bring up the katakuri fight. Luffy Zoro Sanji all do the same thing every fight. That why I liked Alabasta and Water7/Enies Lobby Sanji more than now. More things happened and the characters made things happen. Unlike now where everything is a coincidence. And get credit for what they didn't do.

Not sure what you mean by lacking ‘substance’. As in, driven by actual character emotion/good writing? If so, I definitely disagree with that take. In contrast, I feel like Fairy Tail fights boil down to ‘wanting to protect my guild/friends vs destroying the guild/world’ because *insert sad backstory here*. Doesn’t help that the fight choreography is choppy and turn based at best.

I'm saying that the fights look good in one piece but they lack substance. I don't know what you guys aren't understanding. Fairy tail has the opposite problem. Neither shows are perfect. Hence they both need to be reanimated if possible. One piece is already getting one because of its terrible pacing, out of date animation and SFX and the multiple mistakes within the story. The story which Oda didn't expect to last as long and contracts itself multiple times. A perfect example early on, there werent supposed to be so many flying devil fruits but look how many we have now.

Who was talking about animation? One piece is clearly the bigger series and has great animation now. But don't get it twisted one piece fights always felt dull, except for a few early on and especially not now with "who has the bigger power level"(haki). You can make them look as good as you like but they lack substance.

These guys are hilarious they don't listen to each other and the shows they watch🤣 Natsu END form wasn't complete. We're still waiting for the complete form in 100 years quest. I will agree that the fight was poorly executed but the reason is understandable. Once you look back on the journey Gray had, the promise he made to his father and the new information he received from Invel. Throughout Gray's life he always had survivors guilt that was never truly confronted. And we see that throughout the series and it built up with Ultear, Silver and now Juvia. Deliora a demon created by Zeref designed to kill himself, killed his whole village and parents, then later his Master Ur. Zeref's legacy spread throughout the world and inspired many people like Hades and in turn he continued to corrupt Ultear who thought her magic would lead to a second chance by turning back time. Which lead to Jellal, Erza and the tower of heaven (originally designed to bring back Natsu) and many other deaths. His father was later seen being controlled by one of Zeref's other demons Keyes making Gray kill his own father a second time. The ultimate goal of Tartaros was to revive END and get back to Zeref so they can kill him. Now Zeref lead an army and that lead to Juvia's "death". He's pissed off and wants to direct his anger to the source END, Zeref's first ultimate goal. Someone to blame for everything that went wrong in his life. The timing was poor but he didn't think he could get through to Natsu because of Invel's information. It's a pretty good story for one of the deuteragonist/tritagonist of the series. SPOILER WARNING And currently in the 100yq journey he's growing more as a person rather than just another powerhouse.

I know media literacy is somehow a difficult thing for a lot of anime fans, but that's contextually way different. Makarov didn't allow anyone to destroy his guild, the third hokage stood there & allowed orochimaru to escape. Plus, when Laxus put the guild in danger Makarov kicked him out, when Danzo tried planning a coup d'etat he let that nigga stay in the village with no consequences 💀💀💀
