2024-05-19 21:37:46 +0000 UTCI don't remember this movie at ALL lol. I actually loved Antz 😆 Funny you brought up Kronk, because Sylvester Stallone was the big buff ant in that one. Weaver was his name. That movie would probably hit harder as adult. It was ALL about death and how easy it is for ants to die. As a kid, it was TOO graphic for most kids. It was really intense at points.

2024-05-13 15:50:18 +0000 UTCPLEASE READ IF YOU THINK ANTZ IS A BUGS LIFE RIPOFF! Antz is not a bootleg bugs life, bugs life came out after Antz. It is the product of Disney and the creator of antz having creative differences, before any of this happened Jeffery Katzenberg and Micheal Eisner (who was the ceo of Disney at the time) had beef for a while (which I won’t go into, I recommend you look into it yourself) which would lead Jefferey Katzenberg to leave Disney and co found DreamWorks. Fast forward to when a movie called army ants is pitched, Disney loves some of it but not all of it and due to these creative differences the creator of Antz takes his stuff to DreamWorks. But development for the pitch had already began over at Disney before the creator split, leading to these 2 movies. If you watch both movies you’ll see the similarities of an outcast ant who wants to do his own thing leaves his home only to return, change the status quo, and end up with the princess. I personally think Antz is better but only by a small margin.

2024-05-13 07:15:40 +0000 UTCAnimator here, I assure you neither Studio Ghibli nor Pixar have ever updated any of there older films, Especially not Ghibli. The founder and head animator/ director /writer Hayao Miyazaki is considered one of the godfathers of animation. He's a notorious old hard-ass and would only except absolute perfection in his films, once they were completed they were left untouched. They look that good because they really were just that good. Spirited Away was the first Animated Japanese film to win an Oscar. (Funny you would mention both Pixar and Ghibli because the former chief creative officer of Pixar is actually extremely close friends with Miyazaki and a-lot of the inspirations for their films came from Ghibli movies.)
