2024-04-21 10:12:10 +0000 UTCAlso Wellz, the reason why Chani is mad is like she said during the war council scene, Paul and his mother basically made slaves of the Fremen, using a false religion to do so. They are still being oppressed, they are still being ruled by outsiders, only now they have been fooled into believing it was all a divine plan, and that they are being freed. Also Paul is using the Fremen to carry out his own personal revenge plot. He just sent MANY of them to their deaths without having a care in the world. Remember Chani asked in the beginning of Part 1 "Who will our next oppressors be?" and this is the answer.

Legit how do you try to compare Dune to Spider-Man and Chani to MJ, they are two COMPLETELY different movies, franchises, and worlds, and those two characters couldn't be any more different, it's weird to try and compare them just because they are played by the same actress, especially since she was clearly given more to do in this franchise so by default her role in this is automatically going to be better. Also trying to compare chemistry is hilarious considering Tom and Zendaya are literally together in real life. Lastly when did Rob just decide he didn't like Tom Holland? That boy has literally done nothing to make you decide you don't like him. This random hate came out of nowhere.

I think he has a good chance of being like the Christian Bale to Tim (Leonardo DiCaprio/ Robert Dinero) and Tom (Tom Cruise/ Al Pacino). I know those comparisons aren't the best examples but I'm down for some other suggestions

2024-04-19 05:19:06 +0000 UTCSee, I couldn't help but make Star Wars comparisons throughout the WHOLE movie lol, so here's my thoughts: Paul is definitely Anakin. Nuff said. Fat Harkonnen felt like a Jabba the hut inspiration, IMO. Although, his role was more like Palpatine in these first 2 movies. Waiting to see how this Emperor turns out before I solidify that opinion. I feel like the sister could end up being sort of the Luke in the story, ultimately coming to blows with big bro in the final fight. Not sure who wins that one, however. Gurney was kinda like Obi Wan in the OG Trilogy, to an extent, and even Jason Mamoa's character had a fairly similar role and impact to Qui Gon Gin in the prequels (movies only). OH, not to mention the whole "DO IT!" scene (TS 1:57:40) reminds of Palpatine, too. The witches just give off Nightsister vibes, and their version of magic feels like inspiration for certain parts of the force. A lot of it DOES feel like a stretch, in the end, so I can agree with Rob that Dune really is nothing like SW. Good for SW for keeping it original 😆. Maybe George was by this series when he came up with the prequels and the clone wars, not the OGs.

I dunno how movie recommendations work but if you're looking for a very good action movie its a bit niche but Black 47 is a must watch. its an Irish movie about times during the famine its fantastic. It has a bit of Irish history and is like 80% in English but you may need subs for it because some people struggle with the accents. it has a star cast in it very talented Irish actors and the likes of Hugo weaving (Red Skull and mr smith) in it.

It makes me want to see what’s going to happen with Paul. He seems like he’s turning into something else like his mother. The acting in this movie was top of the line. Zendaya had a beautiful action sequence. I didn’t even know she got down like that. My favorite reaction of the year hands down. Now all we need is Godzilla monster verse and Slam Dunk and then we set🙏🏾

Non-spoiler Fun Fact#2: Paul was actually supposed to be a girl. But his mother Jessica loved his father the Duke so much she gave him a son. Non-spoiler Fun Fact#3: The fact that Jessica taught Paul how to use the voice is so significant because the Bene Gesserit believe “The One” will be a MALE Reverend Mother, who will be able not only to see into the past like they do but see into the future(like Paul does). Which is why they tend to not give birth to Men and when they do they NEVER teach them how to use the voice(A power only the Bene Gesserit have).

From the way he was speaking, and carrying himself, and the pure Aura and presence in the first 2/3rds of the movie is night and day different from the last 1/3rd. I've watched this movie 3 times and that scene where he is telling the Fremen secret, unknown things about their lives gives me chills every time.

This is supposedly due to this black sun that the planet orbits around. they wanted to give a good visual representation from the books, very cool what the directors did.
