So yea it’s still one of my issues with the way this season went, even though I don’t blame the show or animators at all, but it was still one of my issues because it killed the hype for me.

The 1st season told a more cohesive story with a captivating mystery of Nolan's motives that had an exceedingly satisfying payoff by the season's end. While this season may have been a setup season, it did an amazing job developing and progressing multiple characters like Debbie, Mark, Omnimnan, Immortal, Rex, Allen, and etc. Especially making Amber more sympathetic and likable compared to Season 1. I would say the first couple and final couple of episodes were more enjoyable for season 1. While I preferred Season 2's mid section more than Season 1. Sort of balances out for me.

This season kind of suffered with it being split into two parts which kind of slowed the hype for it and it was more development for characters if anything.

As someone who read the Invincible comics and the Boys comics, and now watching the shows, the Invincible comics dominate the comics. I enjoy both Invincible and the Boys, but for the story, Invincible is way better. People watch the Boys because of the hype around Homelander and maybe Soldier Boy. Butcher barely gets attention. While for Invincible, there’s some who read comics and watch the show for Mark and Omni-Man, Allen, Atom Eve, and Battle Beast. There’s other characters on par with them, but I won’t spoil who they are lol

You can say it isn't targeted, but Mark specifically pulled on Angstrom, called him by name, mocked him, then killed his son. Mark also purposely swerved Angstrom as a cop on the bridge. They got beef that goes wayyy back, for sure.

2024-04-05 04:04:50 +0000 UTCI think what a lot of people don't understand is that 3d animation has a lot of ways to make certain things easier, moving a model to do run, punch, or fly is much simpler since you don't need to draw all of the parts. Of course there's other areas where its harder for 3d like backgrounds where it all has to be modeled, textured and set up well with a lighting engine, or light source for more important shots can be as time consuming. I think the switch to 3d for most traditional 2d studios showed to me that it was cheaper or quicker.

Also they introduced so many new side characters on top of the already immense amount of side characters from S1 and TBH I don't care about any of them. The half season break was a horrible decision as well because it lowkey killed the hype. I don't know man it's just a lot of decisions in this season were made that I didn't agree with. Omni-Man, Debbie, and Rex lowkey carry this show on their backs. But I'm not going to lie, Mark really stepped up for me as a character in these last 3 episodes, so the best thing about this season I guess is that I started to appreciate him a lot more as the main character.
