One thing I did hear is when Magi had that big flashback arc in the manga, specifically the Japanese audience was getting upset bc it did not have the main cast in it. Which is kind of stupid bc that flash back was like the equivalent of having the void century flash back in one piece. And if people were to be complaining that the flashback did not have the straw hats. Which is why the magi author unfortunately rushed things for that important flashback.

Whats funny, magi got cancelled because back then horny teenagers preferred fairy tail. Fairy tail was making hella money back then, so all the attention for a magic manga went to them instead of magi. It was a sad time for us magi fans.
