He be anticipating fights for example multiple times he mentioned wanting to see laxus and Olga fight. And after tenrou him and wellz were calling it a top 22-25 anime arc. First scenario RTTV sees an anime that gets a bunch of hate, which ends up lowering their expectations for the show which in turn makes them not dislike it as much as they would've. Examples being Fairy Tail or Boruto. Second scenario is RTTV sees an anime that gets an insane about of love and praise thus increasing their expectations for the show, which in turn makes them dislike an anime that doesn't meet the absurdly high expectations they set. Examples being Fate series, Samurai Champloo, Jojos, or Mob Psycho.

The issue with FT is that the author never develops characters outside of FT. No one and nothing is portrayed as more important than Fairy Tail. It's as if he wanted to make a very simple and short story but ended up creating the opposite, and instead of starting over, was like ''fuck it! Let's just go with the messy narrative and hope for the best'' lmao. Still love the show, don't ask me why🤣

I do agree from an in universe perspective that it was unexpected since most of them doubted Fairy Tail as a guild but still, would’ve liked some kind of upset.

Imo Sting could've easily beat the 5 of them when they were worn down but his emotions were in a turmoil and he lost confidence when he saw the 5 of them standing there unfazed.

Sabertooth and Raventail really got the short end of the stick, and not in a good way. and sting just giving up... i'm at peace with it now, but I remember being absolutely disappointed with how that played out. GMG as a whole's pretty cool, I just wish our antag's weren't such glass cannons.
