The cracks were closer to a translucent color, giving the visual effect of space being fractured like a mirror. Whereas now, the crack effects are a very bright and colorful blue, making it look more like lightning, rather than shattering reality like in Marineford.

Especially when you consider luffy was not able damage them until he went Gear 4. Which indirectly makes Jean Bart even more impressive for body blocking that bullet and taking no damage.
