So when you talk about “delivery of the lines” or “being corny” you clearly don’t understand that it’s actually the same way in Japanese. Because you don’t understand the rules, phonetics, and nuances of the Japanese language. You do know English, so that’s why you notice it there. There’s a bunch of silly and cringey puns and lines in the Japanese that don’t come across that way in English sub because it doesn’t work in English.
