Ted already said earlier in the show before he even knew about this that he felt like the therapist was always just taking Michelle's side and they were ganging up on him, that was part of the reason he didn't like therapists!

Zlatan, neymar, mbappe, david beckham and a handful of others are also some of the best too, but not like the those i mentioned above, i could be forgetting some people who belong on the messi lvl

2024-01-25 21:02:08 +0000 UTCAll of y’all forgot the part where Ted was talking about how in therapy he always felt like his ex-wife and the therapist were always ganging up on him. You are supposed to remember that to realize that he possibly was having some ulterior motives. This also was a grand example of great writing though. It was written in a way where you have to make an assumption one way or the other in if you think this was all in the process during therapy or if it was just a by chance encounter over a year later.

Ted at the beginning of S2 with his therapist said he felt like his M.C and his wife were just ganging up on him and it didn’t feel like they were there to fix the marriage but to tell Ted what he was doing wrong then you find out this man kinda steps into your shoes? In the sense of he’s around your kid and ex now. I’d feel super gross! I can’t help but think the reason they were stressing is because they wanted to wait longer to say because maybe they weren’t telling others how they met, only ted would know and they could’ve been keep it on DL for all we know. Just because we found out a year and a half after or whatever

2024-01-25 15:46:22 +0000 UTCYou go to therapy to expose your most vulnerable self in an attempt to find the cause of the problem, that therapist basically knows the ins and outs of Ted's marriage and the fact he got together with his ex afterwards is downright sick. Me personally I would think the worst of this situation by wondering how far back they developed feelings for each other and if there's a possibility he sabotaged the relationship.
