It’s a lack of motivation or goals toward anything else and just an empty feeling. Other than that I am excited for what they’re doing for the sequel.

Although there may not actually be those emotion characters in our heads, it shows how important all emotions are. You can’t have sadness without happiness, etc. Experiencing sadness or contrast can enhance our appreciation and understanding of happiness. Many believe that going through difficult emotions or adversity can deepen our understanding of happiness, create contrast for appreciation, foster resilience and growth, add emotional depth, and promote empathy and connection with others. However, the experience and interpretation of happiness may vary from person to person. The movie does a good job of this. And as seen in the movie, Joy didn’t mind the other emotions to affect Riley but didn’t want Sadness in the picture at all, basically denying Sadness’s existence and purpose and basically claiming that she wants everything to be a happy moment for Riley. Although that’s completely understandable, it’s ultimately unrealistic. Only in a perfect world or perfect state can one be happy 24/7. Although I know Joy probably didn’t mean it, it affected Sadness in ways that otherwise wouldn’t hence why Sadness couldn’t control her own actions even though she knew what she was doing was not going to help the already happy memories. My take on this is that because of Joy’s denial of basically everything that makes up Sadness, Sadness instinctively or subconsciously was trying to find a purpose and meaning in life or it could be that she was reacting without actually really “acting” on her own because her whole existence somehow knows and understands that Riley can’t function without her either even if Joy initially failed to understand that. I thought about it more and this is what I came to, but I initially was angry at sadness the way Joy was for messing things up and agreeing to not touch the happy memories but going on to do exactly that. However, I think I understand now that that scene was supposed to play out like that to contribute more to the moral.

As for me personally, I just think any movie where the moral is evident and there’s a moral to be learned from the plot is good regardless of whether it’s directed more to young people or if the art style just isn’t it or whatever the case is because that’s the product of good writing, good storytelling, and good intentions-to spread whatever moral the film crew and production company are going for. And whatever the moral ends up being in any movie or anything else, it’s all good to understand and important to know in the end

2024-01-06 17:01:02 +0000 UTCIf anyone noticed, Sadness made her breakdown in class because Joy didn’t allow Riley to mourn at any time at home. So she eventually broke down at the worst time possible. The moral? Give yourself time to mourn or you’ll have a mental breakdown at a bad time.
