Light working together with L might be my favorite section of the story. But I always found his personality with missing memories a bit odd. Cause his personality here feels different from how he was introduced in ep. 1 before he touched the death note.

2023-12-31 20:16:30 +0000 UTCTS 14:30: To homies' point, it's kinda similar to the Batman theater shooting (I live 5 minutes away from that same theater/mall) where dude was let off easy after acting braindead and insane during his case. He was given a much lesser sentence, and the decision was delayed about 3 years while he was put in a psych ward first. He would have been given the death penalty, but was given life in prison instead. Ultimately, even with the insanity plea or even a case of amnesia, the crime would still need someone to do the time. So even if they escaped the death penalty, they would still probably be up the river for life.
