The church part was definitely real. The whole episode was pushing him there. He kept losing his key. Then, it broke. The. It rained and so on. The church happened. That’s where Jane was. The whole point of this episode. Them being in love.

I think beard actually did meet shorty at the club and get beat up, but he definitely did not go to a church that had a club. I think the church was his imagination and the commentators were as well. Also its not far fetched to see Jaime's deadbeat dad outside wandering around. I think the episode would of been better if it put an emphasis on what was fake so there's no confusion.

It's not much to prove he's an alcoholic but that plus this episode might be enough to prove it. Also you're forgetting that they have a bad relationship so just because Jamie is well off doesn't mean his dad is going to be well off as well, he probably bums off on Jamie for games and other stuff.

That being said I also didn’t like this episode because I liked Beard being a mysterious character I didn’t think we needed anything to elaborate on his character. All that and it was just a bad episode. I also felt it was a waste of an episode in some very short seasons.
