I mean it's understandable why Superboy just wants Superman to acknowledge him and take him on as a mentee, it's also understandable his frustration at Superman's lack of effort or care to help him, BUT no one can invalidate Clark's feelings in all this, his DNA was used without his consent to create a clone of him, and now that clone is living and breathing and looking to him to be some kind of father figure and he never signed up for this, not to mention the feeling of being violated and how he probably feels that way every time he looks at Superboy. I don't think he's intentionally trying to hurt Superboy, but he just is trying to process all this. I never liked how Batman and everyone else tried to make Clark the villain in all this just because he didn't immediately accept Superboy, I don't think I would either if it had happened to me, so I get Supes position.

2023-12-03 21:50:38 +0000 UTCI mean, Superman was the last of his kind, and now a half-Kr, a clone, mind you, one he had zero knowledge of, suddenly shows up out of the blue like that. Superman has every right to be standoffish. The man feels violated. Superboy is not his son.

2023-12-03 17:49:12 +0000 UTCAlso I feel that Batman was projecting a little bit when he talked to Superman because he knows how it feels to not have that parental figure in his life. The mistake was trying to make it seem like Superman had to be that parental figure and you can't expect people to take up that role if they're not expecting it.

2023-12-03 17:26:19 +0000 UTCI can't fault Superboy or Superman for feeling how they feel. Superboy just wants Superman to look after him because he's basically a newborn trying to find his way in life but Superman never asked for that responsibility, just the fact a clone was made of him can turn him off from helping and although he doesn't hate Superboy it's hard to confront it as well.
