Spoiler free. With regards to "learning more about hell". You must remember that Bleach lore is not based on Judeo Christianity, it's based on Buddhism and Shintoism. Hell is not the opposite of Soul Society or The Soul King. Unfortunately it's never explained in the series because it's given for granted, because the show was originally meant to air just in japan. What that means is that the whole world of Bleach is based around the idea of Rebirth and Soul Recycling. The human world is only one piece of the cycle and death in the human world simply means you go to another world, which can be Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, Hell etc.. But these 4 worlds are not the only worlds that exist in Bleach. Infact the first movie of Bleach has been designated by the manga author as "Canon", and there they explain another of these worlds. There's also a world for Beasts (as in animals), that's where Komamura and his Grandfather you saw in TYBW come from. That's why Komamura used to cover his face, because technically he does not belong to the Soul Society, he shouldn't be there, but Yamamoto made an exception for him (we think, we don't know for sure yet). Soul Society and the human world however are a bit special, unlike the other worlds where souls cycle through from the other worlds, new souls can be born in the human world and in the Soul Society. Most Bleach worlds correspond to Buddhist realms. - There's obviously the human world. New souls can be born in the human world, however existing souls from other worlds don't seem to recycle INTO the human world. Human souls can cycle OUT of the human world, to go to Hueco Mundo, Soul Society, Hell, Beast Realm, etc.. - Soul Society corresponds to the realm of the Gods. That's why those born in Soul Society are called Gods (yes, even the citizens outside the capital are technically Gods). New souls can be born in Soul Society, that's how you get the 4 Noble families (Kichiky, Shihoin, Shiba etc...). On top of that, existing souls from other worlds cycle INTO the soul society. - Hueco Mundo corresponds to the realm of hungry ghosts. No new souls can be born here. Can recycle IN and OUT. - The realm Komamura comes from corresponds to the realm of the beasts. No new souls can be born here. Can recycle IN and OUT. We're not sure though, it's just a guess. - Hell is a direct correspondence to the Hell as we know it. No new souls can be born in here. Can recycle only IN... so it only absorbs souls, it never gives up souls as they explain in this movie. There are other realms aswell in Bleach that are not present in Buddhism or Shintoism. For example the Precipise World, the dark world all Shinigami cross when moving between worlds, that in itself is a world. That one is a bit special though because that world signifies existence itself, and hosts every other worlds, it's the universe itself basically. Most of these things are explained in the early episodes, but those episode are mostly very boring and few people pay attention to them. Unfortunately many of these things and many other things are not explained in the manga or anime, they are explained in some light novels. But the manga/anime do give you enough to understand the TYBW. Part of the TYBW is because of this cycle, which is enforced by the Soul Society. From what we've been told so far by Yhwach, this wasn't always the case, the world used to follow different rules a very long time ago. But then at some point, the Soul King appeared. Yhwach wants to end the cycle of souls. All these things are technically spoiler free, but most people in the West don't understand them, which is fair enough because when we hear "Heaven" and "Hell" we immediately think about our versions of those places. The reason this movie is important is because, for starters, it's mostly canon. As you've seen the Soul Society really has no say in what is going on in hell, they don't even know what's inside there. Which has some big implications, because even though Hell seems to a be a thing of its own, somehow it's still part of the cycle of souls (at least that's what it looks like). The other implication is Yhwach: he doesn't seem to care about Hell at all, which is curious because it's part of the cycle of souls, which means he definitely should care about it. And finally, the other reason it's important is Bleach Manga Chapter: 686. If you want spoilers look it up at you own discretion.

Jerry straight up doesn’t understand this series. The whole Zanpakuto power system is built on peace with yourself giving making you stronger and more in control of your abilities. Ichigo’s forms are direct extensions of his state of mind at the time, and his whole character arc is about finding that peace and full understanding he does at the end of TYBW cour 1. He has access to all that strength normally now. All of his one-off forms lose their meaning if he can access them again, because he grows/changes as a person after the event he uses them in

Hell was introduced in bleach in ep 6 if I remember then kubo drop chapter 1 of hell arc a year ago I think. Also this movie is not canon and kubo doesn’t like it because the studio didn’t use his idea of hell. And made there own version so if the hell chapters continue we will see the true bleach hell. Foreshadowed since the very beginning with the hell butterfly that appeared with Rukia, and the Hell gate from EP 5.. This is the future plot of Bleach bringing it all back full circle. Perfect thing to see celebrating TYBW’s 1 year anniversary Best OST soundtracks in all of anime even by Bleach standards and this just showcases why Bleach is the strongest in the Big3 with Full powered Hollowfied Ichigo as a peak character design along with the beginning of this movie being Peak animation.
