Yeah so “forgotten” that it came back stronger and better than ever with its author on board in better health. There was never any war of competition since everyone will have their own preferences regardless of a certain serious successes, so that’s all in your deluded head. And The live action never broke the Internet and can’t even be compared since it’s a TV series, unlike others that only had movies. Bleach manga isn’t over and neither is the anime so it’ll definitely have a chance of breaking the Internet and then some. Although technically, it already did with TYBW Eps 1 and 7.

Luffy attaining Gear 5 is literally a narrative piece that adds to the story of One Piece, like was Joyboy the original user? Did he already have the fruit awakened? Is the will of the zoan the will of Joyboy as well? Did the devil fruit allow itself to be eaten because Luffys characteristics align with the Devil Fruits desires? WHY is the world government after it? Like what makes THAT devil fruit so dangerous to the world government aside from its ridiculous power. Thats the major difference between a DB power and Luffy attaining Gear 5

Think about where Goku started to where he is now, it’s ridiculous. He was NEVER meant to be that strong, he only is that strong because it continues the narrative, which is bullshit writing in my opinion. Whereas One Piece for example, Mihawk was introduced literally less than 50 episodes in, already providing a height for how strong people can become and how strong people are in there vast world. Like think about it, Luffy wasn’t even top 15 strongest at Marineford.

SSj2 is a lil bit of static in your aura and slightly sharper hair. SSj3 is just more hair and no eyebrows. SSj4 had the most differences in transformations across the entirety of DB. SSj 1-3 did not change much at all. An entire pallette swap is on the same level of differences to the original transformations. You nostalgia freaks are delusional.

But in terms of buildup, the impact of its appearance, the way it hit the fandom, the cultural zeitgeist, UI is WAY bigger than G5. Ad someone else said, UI is this generation's super saipan. You wouldn't have things like UI Shaggy (which was a cultural phenomenon for like 2 years straight and even became canon in video games) if it wasn't for UI. G5 hasn't had that level of hype. It's had a shit ton of it, but not UI level. 2018-late 2019 early 2020 was dominated by UI terminology

In RBS it's explained that thinking about what your next move will be, even for a second, is too long, especially when you are facing beings that are moving at super speed. So UI is basically Goku's body reacting on its own in perfect sync, so he doesn't even have to think about what his next move will be, that way his kind can focus on power output, etc.

The creativity behind it, the difficulty of making the decision to even go in this direction, and for us the readers, the aftermath. It made Luffy's bag go plausibly to infinity. But UI was fire to me in the anime too. The music, the voice overs, the moment. Goku sliding on an energy beam with a charging Kamehameha vs Kefla maaaaan that shit was so fire. I can imagine it being mad boring in the manga though.
