My exact situation was this, one day I had a conversation with her and she essentially said that she told me she was falling out of love. It happens, Things happen, and things change. Does it make you feel some kind of way? Yes and it will make you look at yourself wondering what’s wrong with you or wondering what you did. The crazy part I didn’t even realize, is that I felt the same way. The thing is you fight to keep things going but you have to realize when you are fighting because you care and want things to work or because you are comfortable and don’t want things to change. You usually will notice the signs before it happens but they usually don’t become clear till that conversation happens. When this happens from the times I’ve seen this and personal experience I’ve realized that the people don’t usually hate each other all of a sudden or feel nothing for them, they just don’t feel the same. They usually still love that person just a different kind of love.

You might think things are good at the moment and that it might stay that way later on but when it gets to that point things change. Feelings can change at the drop of a dime and she probably felt that way after a while but she didn't want to give up what she had with Ted at the beginning of the relationship. Sometimes things can work out with time but other times it's too broken to be fixed no matter how long you work on it and unfortunately this is the latter for Ted.
