Yeah I can agree this is the best episode of Season 2 so far, Rukia's was gorgeous for sure but really the episode's budget was mostly towards the last few mins which is unfortunate. But this episode start to finish, entirely faithful adaptation that made these panels look absolutely STUNNING, like the way they showed how much of a demon/monster Kenpachi is when he crawled out the space vacuum was crazy..And that foreshadowing, God damn that's some amazing stuff.

You’re the first one I’ve ever seen complain about Bleach’s continuity so clearly that’s not an issue. Things get retconned in everything almost all the time even without it being obvious so that’s nothing unique or new to this series. As for Chojiro, he’s simply released his Shikai and Ichigo who already had serious latent potential was trained by both Kisuke and Yoruichi unlocking a premature Shikai and Bankai, so it’s not surprising he was taken out. Aside from that, since when is getting off screened considered being wrote into a hole? Yammy was easily the biggest idiot in the whole series that just happen to have the most Reiatsu that it didn’t mean anything against full-fledged captains, one of which that already was known for having the most Reiatsu himself. As for this episode, Gremmy is literally a child with the mind of God and he wanted to test and beat Kenpachi at his own game fair and square but clearly that wasn’t going to happen, he pulled out all the stops and it was enough to prove Kenpachi can cut through anything. And as for popularity, the Strawhat only has more recognition in Japan and certain eastern countries, nowhere else. Lastly, while debates can be fun, this admittedly is just slanderous time consuming, especially with you comparing Bleach’s writing to the likes of FT, you sure as hell attacked the series when you said that BS and it doesn’t take a hardcore fan to see that.

This episode was okay. It was very good that the cartoon frames were reproduced as they were. However, it's worse than the manga because it cuts off the characters that are reacting in the scene of the meteorite and the like. Overall good but didn't live up to expectations. In the anime, I expected to add animations that could not be expressed in the manga, so I felt that there was very little. Also, the OST of the 2nd cour is very disappointing, I really like the fact that they add a new OST for each episode, but I don't like the overuse of Vasto Lorde. Vasto Lorde is a very good OST but listening to it once or twice is enough for fans and should be remade from another OG, for example Kenpachi fight was Invasion that I was hoping for. It gave me goosebumps nostalgically that "Never meant to belong" was played at the end. However, the fact that the OST used in the climax of the battle is the same all the time would be unsatisfying to anyone who sees it. Except for those meteorites and the OST and the animation this episode would be perfect

Comparing different animes, budget is a bit less of a factor. But when you're isolating it to a single anime and comparing episodes, budget is a much bigger factor. Bigger budget = less time to achieve the same animation level because you can afford more animators working on the same thing and bigger budget = you can afford more talented animators. One piece is the best example of this, the dull episodes that are 50% slideshow are that way because there are fewer people working on those episodes i.e. they're getting less allocated budget compared to big episodes like gear 5 where lots of high level animators are being hired (because more money)
