2023-08-13 15:15:23 +0000 UTCPeople need to understand that this fight is unconventional and it might be one of the few fights in anime to go down this route where it turns from serious to goofy. I have no problem with this cause I'm not viewing it like I would view other fights. So far overall Zoro vs King was executed better than this because of the theme of two people fighting while showing how much conviction they have for their captain but this fight is just Luffy's imagination running wild. They do need to do better with certain things like using appropriate cartoon sound effects but hopefully the climax of the fight gets better than this. The moments are still dope though.

Not every final anime fight has to be this intense showdown where the MC barely makes it out alive. Hell, if you want that just go rewatch the entire fight up til the point where Luffy transforms. There’s your standard anime fight. Oda is actually being creative, doing something different and going outside of the box and you’re complaining cause it’s not the same thing you’re used to seeing from every other final fight you’ve seen.

And also for all of you talking about budget this, budget that, when are y'all gonna learn that it's not about budget, it's time and resources. He doesn’t even add much to the conversation because he doesn’t want to spoil and when they do spark arguments he tends to forget key things and makes himself look like an ass, EX: when the rest of the guys were saying Zoro was getting assistance initially from Hiyori playing her music and making enma power Zoro up but in fact it was doing the opposite and sucking out all of Zoro’s haki which in turn was depleting him

I agree the sounds effect do seem off but I think it's because we're not use to hearing western looney toon sound effects in anime especially in one of the big 3. If your hyping yourself up for some dragon ball type fights than you will set yourself to not like it. Which is understandable.

However gear 5 has some of the best animated moments in the series in my opinion. Zoro vs king might be better as a fight but gear 5 has better animated moments if that makes sense.

Put it into perspective, these animators worked hard under such time constraints. I agree that people overhyped it, but that is irrelevant to the hard working team behind it & you cannot compare their work on seasonal animes - which have much more time to create anime adaptations.

Besides that their fight, Law/Kid vs Big Mom and even Sanji vs Queen has less things splitting them up. Sadly that's where this fight falters. Oda needs to focus completely on it and not other stuff.

He said he can't stop watching OP episodes ahead because he's so hype and loves OP so much now. Wellz was the one who shitted on OP the most but now he loves it enough to where he's watching it at least 3 times (alone/with the gang/editing solos).
