☑️ Did you notice? Scenes featuring a French bakery will occasionally appear throughout the drama.
This is an example of indirect advertising (PPL) for Paris Baguette, a famous franchise bakery in Korea. Haha! 🤣
At the time, this PPL was actually praised because it blended well with the historical setting of the Joseon era.
When Mr. Sunshine was airing, Paris Baguette even sold special edition food items inspired by the drama, including the large candy, castella cake, and shaved ice that Ae-shin and Dong-mae ate in the show.
☑️ 0:18:33 – The reason Eugene was deep in thought:
Since both of his parents were killed by nobles, he harbored resentment toward the aristocracy and saw them as a completely different class from himself. However, when he saw the ornament Ae-shin had tied to her skirt, it overlapped with his memories of his mother, making him realize that Ae-shin was also a noble. This is likely why he became lost in thought.
(Of course, Ae-shin and her family were exceptionally good nobles. As shown in Episode 1, her grandfather was the king’s mentor and a highly respected figure who served as a role model for the people of Joseon. This is an example of noblesse oblige.)
Eugene’s perspective was shaped by the fact that he was born as a slave.
