Late comment but I totally agree with Ryan that 8th prince hasn't done anything wrong. It was mostly the circumstances. I feel like it would be even more heinous for him to use Haesoo over his own mom and sister. But this obviously showed that he's not the one who can protect Haesoo in the palace. I kinda pity him though bc he has so much to protect and so many he has to satisfy

Queen yoo’s family has a lot of power and if king tried to punish her than it is obvious that there would be a war. A lot of people will die and that would be much worse than soo dying. And the king is trying his best to give the throne to the crown prince so that family yoo doesn’t get more power. I think his way is the most ideal in terms of saving as many innocent lives as he can. Its not that only soo is innocent and people that are gonna die in war is not

He made the choice that was right for him and I feel like he would make that same choice again if the option was given to him a second time. His mum loved him, his sister loved him and he loved them. So’s mum hated him and he’s not close to his family so it was easy for him to choose Soo over them because of that. Wook may have loved So but he just wasn’t the one for her. I hope Haesoo finally sees the person who would risk it all for her now - So. 🤩

I know he chose to throw Hae Soo away to protect his family but obviously the major reason for that is because of the throne. He was already changing when he saw So doing the rain ritual. I feel like his family is just the last factor to actually push him to chase for the throne. After all, his greed has made him blind and he does not deserve Hae Soo ever again.

2024-10-19 20:02:19 +0000 UTCBtw, guys fyi..as a reply for Ryan's asking why Hae Soo was like sick (In the prison cell, note that Hae Soo was seen bleeding on her lower torso/body while talking to 4th Prince) Hae Soo was already beaten and tortured by then (through leg-screw as Astronomer Jimong mentioned prior to that scene) that's why IU was limping when she was walking and about to hang by the guards. And when IU was seen going to the Palace entrance and kneels down to beg to the King that Lady Hae Oh was innocent..you can see that Hae Soo was in pain from her leg & knees..

He should have tried to find a solution. 4th prince drank the poison for her, 8th prince could have done what lady Oh did. But he was such a coward and did absolutely NOTHING. (Loved your reaction tho, the debates in between were very entertaining)

And I blame Yeon Hwa for forcing the 8th prince to choose.. but then, Hae Soo was right, instead of doing nothing, doing something is still much better. And I so love the 4th prince for standing beside Hae Soo when 8th literally turned his back on her. Lady Oh was right, 8th will forever regret the day that he turned his back on Hae Soo.. Lady Oh was the hero of this episode..

My heart always break into pieces whenever i get to this episode😢💔 Also, i was so entertained with your debate at the end. I'm wondering if you continued straight to the next ep after that cos that'll be very interesting to see esp when it's about the 8th prince... You both have points ofc, though I am more on Tiana's side. I agree with Ryan that 8th Prince did what he had to do at that moment but, as Tiana said, after what he did, we wouldn't want him for Hae Soo anymore. He could have just be a bystander like the other princes who supported Hae Soo by staying with her, yet he chose to turn his back and leave. He didn't necessarily need to fight for her, why can't he even show his support along with the other princes? And this is my personal take, I dislike Yeon Hwa but I dislike the 8th Prince more than her. At least Yeon Hwa was clear with her intentions and consistent. She acts with what she believes in and what she says. Didn't even mind when his own brother called her a debtor cos she has her goals. While the 8th Prince? He made it seem that his love for Hae Soo was so grand, he promised her that he'll take her out of the palace and marry her. He also denies he eyed the throne even a bit... yet he's too weak to protect both Hae Soo's love and the throne.

2024-10-19 12:20:46 +0000 UTCThe biggest villain in this episode was Yeon Hwa in my opinion because she not only tried to kill the crown prince and Hae Soo but literally guilt tripped the 8th prince to secure her position by making him go down the path of power by getting him to abandon Hae Soo. Still doesn’t excuse him being a literal coward 😤 Like if the princess never gave that oscar performance to pretend to be poisoned then Hae Soo would’ve never been framed thanks to 4th prince covering for the poison.
