Royal Magic Academy Lore

The Royal Magic Academy was founded after the War of Roses as a symbol of peace between the houses of the Mighty Blue Rose and the Cunning Gold Rose. With their combined riches they bought and modernized a ancient cathedral where priests used to be taught magic by the elder gods.

The schools entry speech goes as follows:

When the world was new and the church was first built the monks sort knowledge of the gods. The Elder Gods whispered in their ears and told them of a time before time, of the four creators that brought the world to be before handing power to their children, the Elder and the Dawn gods.

They were known as Eternius, Obsidius, Abyssal and Momentium, and it is from them that all magic came to be. They are now sorted in their respective houses to support each Students talents and growth while you study here. They are:

Momentium: Extremely creative, energetic and chaotic. They are inventive and always attempting new skills but can lack focus. They are talented support mages and do well creating magic items. They work well in a group and are best suited to covens and mage guilds.

Eternius: Friendly and confident this house is particularly in tune with the physical world. They are able to use elemental magic with great ease but can struggle to comprehend the more ethereal aspects. They are honest and down to earth, although there actions can be brash and focused closer on there allies safety rather than the more logical approach.

Obsidius: Head strong and hard working, these magic users care for order and logic, often suiting them to the more structured arts of witchcraft and spell casting. They are excellent problem solvers but struggle with the more naturalistic flowing magics of mages and warlocks. They are best suited to working alone.

Abyssal: Mysterious and focused these students have a deep understanding of the raw essence of magic, making them skilled at hexes and curses as well as a natural interest in the anatomy of magical creatures. They tend to lack empathy, often leading to self centred actions with lack of remorse. Best suited to Witch doctors, Druids and Necromancers.

Rumors say that in the dungeon below the school cursed utensils can be found and magic circles that are to summon demons, open a gate to Hel and even Eldritch gods and their crumbling statues. While these are just speculations, Students are still strictly prohibited from entering.

The school emblems amethysts represent royalty, wisdom, peace and ambition. The hourglass potion indicating the infinite power of magic and knowledge combined with the golden Pegasus wings of freedom, soaring into a bright future.

Originally only Royal Centaurs studied there in friendly rivalry but upon the great success of the Istalm Academy becoming a multi cultural community the Royal Magic Academy now allows any monster, human and elf to study there who fulfill the academic requirements to do so.
