July Progress Update -- and important billing update!

Hi all!

First, you are due for an update, and second I wanted to let you know how that's impacting billing. But, because I'm a bit mental, I'm going to address with those in reverse order.

Second Thing First - Billing

Let's deal with that second one first. I have paused billing for the next 30 days, so nobody will be getting a renewal billing for the next month. If you have any questions about how this will work, I've tried to answer them at the bottom of this post. But, the short version is that nobody will be billing for the next 30 days.

Now, why am I doing that? It goes to the progress I've been making. I am still working on renders and making steady progress, but the progress has definitely been slower than I would like and slower than I think is fair for supporting patrons, which is why I'm pausing billing for the next month. I don't want to stress or push myself, but I also want to be fair to you.

First Things Second - Progress Update

I currently have about 300 lines of script that need images (not a lot), but after that I still need to write and create images for a one-on-one scene with one of the major characters. So, there is still some work to do. Unfortunately, it just has been some slow going while juggling work and family, and although I am making progress, sharing "sneak peeks" with you of the same characters in the same scene for several weeks in a row would be boring.

My hope right now is to have something out for you in August. I wish I had something for you now -- that was my plan -- but in the absence of that, I think pausing the billing is the best approach to take for now.

As for this update, I do hope folks enjoy it. There's a lot of information about this character's background provided quickly, but you're able to decide how you feel about it and want to react to it. Add in a couple of explicit scenes with some of our resident bad boys and... should be fun.

Anyway, enough of that. I hope everyone is having a pleasant summer.

More Information on Billing

As you all probably know, the Bound by Night Patreon project is on a subscription model. I have never paused billing since switching to that model, so this is a bit new for me.

Under the subscription model, each patron is billed on roughly the same day of the month that they subscribed. So, if you originally joined on January 15, you would be billed each month on or around the 15th. That date is what Patreon calls your "charge date."

As I understand it, when billing is paused on a subscription model, patrons will not be charged while the pause is in effect, and your charge dates are not changed. So, if you just subscribed on July 20th, your next charge won't occur until September 20th (because your August 20th date will be skipped).
