Creator Spotlight: Y Press Games and Oni Onsen

Hi there!

As of late, creators of NSFW visual arts have been under a bit of a microscope with ever narrowing options on how to market their products and make a living. While BBN is a passion project and not my primary source of income, for others it is how they make a living. So, when storefronts such as Gumroad close down and payment processors impose ever stricter limitations on permissible content, I worry about my fellow creators and their ability to keep going. So, I've decided to make one post a month that is dedicated to another creator and an upcoming or recent project.

Kickstarter for Oni Onsen

This month's spotlight will by on Y Press Games' current Kickstarter for Oni Onsen. You may have heard about it already but, if not, check out the below. In short, the Kickstarter will only be running for another 11 days and is in need of some support if it's going to succeed.

About Y Press Games

I imagine you've all heard about Y Press Games. They're one of the major publishers of gay-oriented NSFW visual novels with a strong track record of delivering on their projects and doing it with high production values.

What you may not know is this is the publisher's full time job and they also have full time employees working on programming, social media and graphics. Unfortunately, in the same way that inflation has been hitting a lot of consumers' pocketbooks, it's also hitting that of small businesses and solos, like Y Press Games. (This is one of the reasons I want to start doing this creator spotlight posts.)

About Oni Onsen

This visual novel will be focusing on Samurai Asano, who lost his ancestral onsen to the warlord Sakuna. When the onsen is taken by the warlord's daughter, she releases four oni.

Now, here's the exciting part (to me). In addition to pursuing a route with the four oni, you can also pursue a harem route in this game if you want!

While the publisher is worried this Kickstarter may not reach its goal in time, I'm hopeful that it will. I really want to see bad-boy Aku!
