Poll: How many are opting into explicit shifter content?

One of things about being a total newb of a software developer (can I even call myself a software developer?) is I haven't got a clue about how I could track user engagement and choices in Bound by Night. The good news is that results in a complete respect for your privacy; even if I wanted to know what people were doing with my game, I couldn't figure out how to do it to save my life. The bad news is... I really don't know what content people are into, so I'm just adding what I think is fun and then seeing if it generates comments and feedback.
But, I really would like to know! As you may know, this latest update included a huge set with a shifted-Connor. (Seriously, it was huge. 🤣 ... Ah, I have the humor of a teenager. Anyway...)
Now, this content is NOT going away, but I also realize it is not for everyone. Some fans are emphatically TeamVampire, others TeamHuman. In order to try to strike a right balance, I'd love some more information from you. I don't mind(and somewhat enjoy) the shifting content, but worry that it might take up an inordinate amount of dev time. I say that without really knowing how much dev time it actually takes up, just that I've seen you mention extensive scene building before.

2024-02-15 21:37:00 +0000 UTCI have expressed my opinion on this matter before elsewhere, so only to confirm my position: Unfortunately, I canť find the used werewolves models nice, not to say attractive. It has anything to do with the wolf's beauty, sadly... But I understand there are several limitations what to use etc. etc. :-)

2024-02-15 20:45:37 +0000 UTCAnd I'm loling at the slime stuff. Patreon used to give me automated warnings whenever I used very explicit language. Even though this is an NSFW project, I still got the warnings, so I try to convey the idea without using words that will set off the bot.

Yeah, I made a very conscious decision to note focus too much on shifted-Connor's face because I was really struggling to get anything in the way of interesting facial expressions. The mouth, in particular, is very limited. If I had more time to test and play with it, I may have been able to come up with more, but sometimes I just have to press on.

2024-02-15 17:42:14 +0000 UTCI do not understand how those "shifted" monster junks work. I never have. I do not understand their looks. I do not understand the knot. I do not understand how and why they leave the sack. But it is not important to me, anyway. For me what is most important is the development of the emotional relationship between the characters. What does it mean for a werewolf when he can have sex in his shifted form with a human? How does that feel different for the werewolf? Is it more intimate? Those are questions I'd like to see explored. Is it different for every werewolf? I would imagine, maybe for a werewolf it could be more intense and intimate, if the are emotionally close to their human partner. Because the human shows the werewolf that they accept him for who he is. And that they even enjoy it. Now I noted that you said " Some fans are emphatically TeamVampire, others TeamHuman. " and you specifically left out "Team Werewolf"! :P I am emphatically Team Werewolf!

And I am curious if the shifted content will include other hybrids other then wolves in the future. I did find the most recent scene somewhat less appealing because I was unable to clearly see the shifted's face. Or read it any better than the MC could ;) I look forward to seeing more of all the content you've provided so far. I've seen your response about the work you need to do to add...slime... and I would personally say i'm fine without the slime. Not a fan of it so much myself ;)

To be clear, this isn't really a vote on how much to include; it's just a way for me to gauge interest and see if its worth continuing to include and, if so, at the current ratio or at a reduced one. I do not see shifted content becoming a focus of the game/VN. First and foremost, it's about the story, and I also want to make sure #TeamVampire gets their itch scratched! But, if a lot of folks are looking at the shifted content and going, "Nope, not for me," then I'd be looking at reducing it. Put another way, I want to include a mix of content for all the players, but I want to ensure it is the right mix. And thanks again for this feedback. This is exactly the kind of information I'm looking for!

2024-02-15 15:43:04 +0000 UTCIt takes a little more time as there are no "white slime" assets that conform to that genitalia. So, I have to also attach an invisible human genitalia, pose it to line up with the visible werewolf junk, then attach the slime asset to it. Not as much work as it sounds like, but it is a little extra. That said, this is exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for. Thank you! ❤️
