General Update on BBN and Life

Hi all! This is partly an update on progress for Chapter 14, but also a general "What's going on"-post about BBN and what's going on in my life.

So, first things first, work continues on the next update every day and progress is being made. It is going a bit slow these last two weeks (details below) but I am working at it. I'll try to share more sneak peeks with you as I'm able.

BBN on the Web

If you follow me on Twitter, you probably already know this, but I'm suspending my activity on Twitter. This isn't an account deletion, but the last couple months have been something of a disaster in my opinion, with new policies issued and then yanked within 24 hours, transphobia and allegations of grooming and assault by gay men from the CEO/owner himself, random suspension of journalists, and on and on. Until I see substantial changes in the direction and management of the platform, I don't want to be part of the product that is being sold. I'm currently trying to figure out Hive Social (@boundbynightvn) and get more active over there, but I'm also keeping an eye on other platforms as the market evolves and reacts.

My Personal Life

I don't share too much about my personal life on here but, when it effects BBN, I want to be transparent. Progress has been slower than I would like the last two weeks because I started a new job at the beginning of the month. It has been incredibly demanding with a firehose of new information being sprayed at me. By the end of the day, I'm mentally exhausted. I always manage to get a few renders done, every day, but I'll be honest I'm not at the level of productivity I'm usually at. As I get more acclimated and things settle into a routine, I should have more energy to properly focus on BBN in the evenings, but I did want to let folks know.

Developer Community

One recent development unrelated to BBN is that a collection of developers, 3d artists and I started a new Discord server to support one another as well as aspiring VN developers and 3d artists. If you're interested in learning more, everyone is welcome to join. The server is called "LGBTQ+ Developer Community," and here is the link.

What's Next?

I am aiming to have some sneak peeks out for Patrons this week, then there will be a brief pause for the Christmas holiday, but then next week while I do still have my job, the family will be traveling out of town and I should be able to focus my evenings on BBN and have some nice progress to report before the end of the month.
