End of Month Update (September 2022)

It's that time again! So, what's going on with BBN?

Long and the short of it is this month has been spent entirely plugging away at renders for this next update, though I've also circulated the first draft of the script to a couple folks for proof reading and have started receiving and incorporating feedback on that as well. (One of my proof readers said he may even have one of the lines turned into a tattoo!) 😲🥰

I had to take a little bit of a mental health break last week, and this week has had me going a little slow due to a colleague out at work  as well as a job search and interviews, but I'm still at it, making new images and running QC with each new batch. That said, August was spent writing the script (which came in at over 53 pages when I put it in a Word document) and in September I've made 227 images so far (which is a little below the benchmark of ten per day but, I think, not unreasonable).

At this point, I usually consider whether to pause billing for the next month. However, with the new subscription-based model (Patreon announcement), folks should be able to cancel and then come back as they like without having to worry about getting hit again on the 1st of the month. Meanwhile, under this new model, if I did pause billing, nobody would be able to become a patron during the 30-day pause period (unlike the old model); this seems a little odd to me but it's the way they set it up. In the end, though, I think this continues to give patrons more flexibility and control. So, at this time, I'm not going to pause billing. Disagree? Let me know in the comments. This is a new billing model for Patreon and BBN, so we're all learning as we go.

Meanwhile, as soon as I finish the renders for this scene in Mayhew's office, I'm going to get you some from his art gallery. It's just that this conversation is taking a lot longer than I appreciated. I'm trying to make reasonable re-use of prior images and renders to maximize efficiency, but sometimes I need to make adjustments for expressions and emotions that haven't come up yet or just get you a nice variety of shots.
