Progress Update on Build 0.10

Hi everyone. I wanted to give you a quick update on how things are going with the next update.
I think I'm about 60% finished with the writing. This has been an interesting bit to write as I really only have two personalities to work with, Alex and Mayhew. Although, I suppose Alex has some "Split personalities" I have to accommodate for, given the different approaches and motivations players may be using in their respective playthroughs.
As I've been writing the scene, I also took the time to do some serious Google searching to flesh out Mayhew's backstory. Since I first conceived of him, I had the broad strokes, but I struggled to find the type of historical event I wanted to anchor him in. Last night I finally found it and I hope you'll agree it adds an interesting bit of real world backstory, blending fact and fiction.
In addition to the writing, I've also been working on setting up a couple of the environments in which I'm going to be doing the renders. I'm struggling with finding the appropriate props and stage pieces for one of them (the bits that come with the asset don't really fit Mayhew's personality), but the other one has come together nicely and I'll have a SFW teaser of that out to Patrons later today or tomorrow.
I've also been working on finishing the renders for the other option in Alex's encounter at the end of the previous update. So, that's coming as well!
At a high level, I've also decided to set this as a separate chapter. It'll be short compared to Chapter 12, but I thought that chapter was getting a bit long, and the encounter with Mayhew should stand on it's own.

I think it's one of the most anticipated moments just as much as Ronan's encounter with Alex ð I just wish he wasn't cuffed. I hope we can see one of those times between Ronan and Alex

2022-08-16 21:23:27 +0000 UTCI love and own so many books from Vampire the Masquerade which you quote as one of your influences and let me say I appreciate that you are trying to root Mayhew in history. It was always lovely how the writers in VtM tried to blend their mythology with the real world aand I feel it will make such a difference in improving the verisimilititude of the world.
