Update (3/31): New links updated for Build 0.8b, which fixes an audio error at the end of the update. Also included Android links with optimized images that cut the size of the app almost in half.
Alright, everyone... Here it is, the first part of Chapter 12. I'm going to drop the links right here so you can start downloading and, while that's going, you can read the notes below.
Notes:
- This release breaks a couple of big milestones. First, BBN now has more than 3,000 images and breaks the 1 GB threshold. I can barely believe it.
- This build introduces a new mechanic I'm calling "For Whom the Bell Tolls." In short, you only get to aggravate Mayhew so much before "Bad Things" happen. Those "Bad Things" do not yet happen in this release, but the tally starts. That's your warning.
- About half-way through development of this update, a new version of Daz Studio was released that completely ruined a way a lot of developers managed lighting in a scene (called "ghostlights"). I managed to find some workarounds but as a result there were some challenges lighting some scenes. Forgive me.
- You'll also notice a slightly different art style in the images, in which I applied some post-processing effects in Photoshop. I'll circulate a poll in a few days to get your feedback. I really like it, but I also have all the original images (before any processing was applied) so I can always revisit this if the feedback is negative.

I know there are some folks who are, shall we say, a little "possessive" of Connor and I'm not against a little fan service there.

I was so distracted during the talk between Mayhew and Alex by that adorable tiger rubbing against Alex, lol. Your VN is a very high quality one which I enjoy very much. The only other VN with this high quality I can think of is "Straight?" by Aaryn (which I enjoy very much, too). I fell in love with Connor instantly. But I also love to dominate Ronan. Given that you have already put a threesome in the game. Given that both Connor and Ronan are werewolves. Given that my Alex likes the idea to do it with a werewolf. Given that there may be some unresolved tension left between Connor and Ronan... I'd really love to see a threesome with Alex, Connor and Ronan. All the best for the future of this great VN.

He's taking very little shit from anyone, even ancient pretty and arrogant knowitall vampires. ๐

2022-04-01 19:08:00 +0000 UTCCompletely understand and I definitely want to give some room for that. That's why I decided against any one incident being so bad Luke just has Alex killed. So, you get to have moments when you stand up to him. Then, at other times, you can be evasive and not agree but pick your battles. I just think the suspension of disbelief required for Alex to keep judging Mayhew as irredeemably evil without any consequences - - while Mayhew is having him work on this sensitive project - - is asking a bit too much of most players. Plus, a little danger there for Alex is I think a good thing. BUT, definitely find those important points where you need to stand on your principles and tell him off! (Just not too much; there are bigger things at stake than one doctor's sense of morality.) ๐

Having said that, your game and story are awesome and I'll continue to play and support what you create. ๐

I honestly debated not saying anything (other than what's in the changelog notes), but the player-side of me hates getting so far in a game only to find out a decision I made four chapters ago winds up having an surprise effect. This isn't going to be like that, it's cumulative and so once you finally cross the threshold, you'll know and will be able to go to a recent savegame to make a different choice, but I did want to warn folks about it precisely because it is cumulative. You get to make a few choices to press, but only so many.
