Final Status Update before Release of Build 0.4

Hello there you beautiful people. This is the final status update before the release of Build 0.4 for early access.

We are almost there. The script has been fully written for several weeks and, finally, all images have been rendered and through the first round of quality control ("QC"), including clean-up in Photoshop.

All that's left is adding sound then doing several playthroughs to not only test the code but also make sure the dialogue and images make sense. That process may require some new images or further editing, but we are really close and at this point I expect to have this out to you at some point in the next week.

What's in store?

At present, Chapters 7 and 8 add 773 unique images to the game--Build 0.3b had 551. The game is also coming in at more than 8,400 lines of code--Build 0.3b had 3952. In other words, while this build is "only" two chapters, the chapters are huge and more than double the size of the game.

You're also going to see some changes to the UI. With huge thanks to one of BBN's fans (Thanks, Mogu!), we managed to find some open source fonts that I think really complement the style of the game. Check it out:

Another technical update is that autosaves upon making choices and quitting the game are now enabled. And you may notice the game now has proper licensing language, both in terms of the game itself as well as attribution to some of the artists whose audio files I'm using.

A few days after Build 0.4 is released, I'll have another post for you with a road map for next steps (hint: I'm already putting together plans for the second act). In the meantime, I want to say thank you to all of you for your support. It means so much to me to know that people are enjoying the game and provides a ton of motivation and encouragement. ♥
