Status Update on Build 0.3 (plus Bonus Image)

I had told myself I was going to take some downtime last week but the truth is I had too many ideas running through my head and wanted to get them written down and in motion. So, work on the next release is well underway and it should include Chapters 4 through 6. 

It’s too early for me to hazard a guess as to when it will be ready, but certainly this month. And absent extraordinary circumstances, my goal is to have a release for you every month. That’s an advantage of structuring this around smaller, tightly-focused chapters. Here's a rough summary of where things stand, though until something hits 100% these are more estimates than objective measures:

• Initial Script:  100%
• Initial Renders:  60+%
• Adding Dialogue Menus/Choices:  ~40%
• Edit/Revise Script:  10%
• Correcting Renders:  10%
• Adding Sound:  0%
• QC:  0%

While there will be a nude scene in this release (previously teased), there probably won’t be any sex. Although that could change in the editing process (the optional explicit scene at the end of chapter 3 was the result of a last minute brainstorm), these next few chapters are laying out a lot of the groundwork for future chapters and relationships, and are kind of foundational to hooking the sex into how the characters feel about one another. 

However, I do have an explicit scene planned for release 0.4. In fact, you could say I have two scenes planned, as what I’m contemplating is for that to be the first of the scenes were you can choose whether Alex takes a more dominant or submissive role.

For this next release and all future releases, I’m going to be converting the images into a JPG format rather than PNG. The PNG format was already starting to result in some rather large downloads and, after a side-by-side comparison of the PNGs and JPGs, there just wasn’t a discernible difference (to my eye).

Werewolves

I would still welcome feedback from the prototypes I posted for the shifted werewolves, but right now the feedback I’ve received on the four concepts has been in support of a single model that also happens to be the one I favor. I have what I think are some fun plans but these initial thoughts would take place later in Act 2 (we are still in the early part of Act 1).

Characters

With the exception of the vampire, all of the core characters have had some significant time “on screen” at this point. I’m also talking with our antediluvian-tier supporter about a new character and am excited about the direction that’s going. That character may or may not be ready in time for an introduction in v0.3.

Bonus

Finally, here's another shot of some of the stuff I've been playing around with. I'm not sure exactly how to work this into the story -- wolves walking around in a major metropolitan area would attract a lot of unwanted attention -- but I feel like I'd be missing an opportunity if I didn't find some way to make it happen.
