Heads up on chapter
Added 2022-02-05 05:43:50 +0000 UTCSaturday morning/afternoon for this one. The conversation took much longer than expected to refine.
Making sure things make sense, and tying everything up has been much harder in this book than the last.
Thank you for your patience, and I apologize for the delays.

Have you also considered doing another time skip to get to the part of the story you love? You can still touch on the parts that have plot relevance with flashbacks! Writing some Mei Mei may do your love of the work a world of good

2022-02-05 16:05:33 +0000 UTCIn addition to taking a break, have you considered just formalizing the delays and, while keeping the same personal schedule, moving the actual release schedule to Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday? It’d give you basically a whole other day to refine things if needed, and if you finish a chapter without delays, then you get a whole day off before needing to release anything.

2022-02-05 13:07:11 +0000 UTCi would rather not be told about a delay if its only a day or 2 once it hits the week mark i would want a message. My self i hate emails that are not story ones like polls or 1 day delays or pics.

2022-02-05 12:38:27 +0000 UTC*just my opinion before someone gets triggered* I would rather be communicated in advance to expect 2 chapters as opposed to these constant delays. I cannot begin to imagine the stress of doing this as a hobby to suddenly having thousands of people waiting on a chapter(s). I would rather a slower release than you burning yourself out. I certainly don't want to come as out of line but all of the posted messages, to me, feel like you're doing this because its something you have to do as opposed to your passion. If you aren't starting the chapters until the day they're due.... that might be indicative of something else. Your novel is amazing and I will buy it as it comes out and I want you to make a living off it but to provide a service means a certain level of consistency or reliability. At this point, you and your health, are more important than the novel.

2022-02-05 07:56:52 +0000 UTCI agree with what others have said, it probably would be good to take off some time after this volume. In my experience, from what I've seen from other stories/patreons, is that people rarely mind delays, at least as long as they are communicated well. What actually costs you readers is being unreliable. Hell, even I, as someone who understands that such a story takes time and thinks it's well worth the wait, can't help but be disappointed to wake up to just another chapter delay (edit: I would pay anyway, because I like this story and I feel like Casualfarmer earned it, but it still feels bad). Maybe take off a month, disable payments, and come back the next month with more of a Plan and fresh Ideas. This also can't be good for an authors mental health. I know for myself, how I feel when I miss deadlines or when I feel like I don't deliver what I promised to someone and I would be a nervous wreck by now. This might not be what it is like for you, but I don't think some time for you to reset could hurt. Edit: Also, is there a date for the audiobook release, even a tentative one? Ever since I first read this story, I wanted to be able to listen to it.

2022-02-05 07:31:10 +0000 UTCIt has been late. But calling him out as someone who is just milking his patreon for money

2022-02-05 07:23:43 +0000 UTCWow lol. Some of these comments I'm reading are down right rude lol. If your paying monthly for 2 extra chapters ahead of the free version and expect perfection that's kind of weird. I won't speak for all but I imagine most of Farmer's patreons support just because they like the content and not the schedule.

2022-02-05 07:23:00 +0000 UTCThanks for the update. But once this volume is done you should take a month off and organize everything your doing. These late annoucements are starting to feel like someone who doesn't know where their story is going next, but are making too much off patreon to own it.

2022-02-05 06:40:27 +0000 UTCBut he kinda already has. We just happen to get a bonus 3rd chapter every once and a while. Lol (Ps.) Not complaining. would rather him go down to 1 chapter a week instead of dropping chapters he’s not happy with

2022-02-05 06:27:46 +0000 UTCCan you post earlier for this? This isn't a delay announcement, we all gave up much earlier

2022-02-05 06:07:49 +0000 UTCWhat James said. Bigger sets. More variables. Harder to refine logically. Makes perfect sense.

2022-02-05 06:03:32 +0000 UTCAs the scope of the book expands, and you continue to add new characters as rapidly as you have been, it's only natural that it takes longer to make everything align properly. I'd rather quality over quantity myself. Please, take the time you need.

2022-02-05 05:49:08 +0000 UTCHmmm, what would be a context appropriate response.... Oh I know! .... something something- How dare you deny me my desires in this exact moment!?!??!!?!?..... .....something something- You're courting death!!!!!!!!!!!..... .....something something- *gets beaten in melee by a chicken* In all seriousness, take your time. Three sizable updates a week is kinda nuts.

2022-02-05 05:48:44 +0000 UTCNo worries on the delays! Your writing is amazing, and your story flows so well with well defined and lively characters. Don't push yourself too much, and know we all really love your work!

2022-02-05 05:45:16 +0000 UTCHave you considered going down to 2 chaps a week? It might make things easier and the story turn out better
