Added 2025-05-08 13:31:20 +0000 UTCHere are a few more teaser pages from The Legend of Baba-Set. Here we see Aphrodite's gambit with the Golden Apple (though obviously you don't get any dialogue). You also see Baba moving with his new, more ape-like posture.
My plan is for the apple to essentially be a love potion, or some way for Aphrodite to exert her influence over Baba. The question I am still working out is -- how does she trick Baba into eating it? Is it a symbol of truce? I she telling Baba it will give him some special powers? Is she surrendering her priestesses to him, or claiming to?
My drafting process is highly visual, so I usually don't work out specific dialogue or even plot beats until after I have drawn them. The pace of the comic is usually decided on a panel-by-panel, page-by-page visual basis rather than by scripting. So whatever conclusion I come to, it'll be something I add at the final scripting/dialogue stage.

He knows what it is supposed to do and he knows Aphrodite will be overly confident about its power. Could be a great resulting first "oh shit" moment from Aphrodite to see not only did he willingly consume it, it had no effect.
