High School Frenemy (Ep 14-16)

Watching the series again after months felt very nostalgic. It reminded me of the excitement I felt while waiting for each week's episode. Those were really good times. First of all, even though the series is about bromance and focuses heavily on the theme of friendship, in my eyes it will always remain BL. Because Saint and Shin feel like they are in the stage just before becoming lovers. It’s as if they’re not ready to label it or acknowledge their feelings yet. But from an outsider’s perspective, it feels like the kind of relationship where everyone would say, “These two are definitely going to end up together once they start college." That’s how we generally think about it in the fandom. Actually, just the other day, the CEO of gmmtv also put the series on the BL/GL list during a presentation. So... from my perspective, there's not much room for doubt. Anyway, finally, I totally agree with you about Ken. If we're supposed to feel sympathy for Ken, at least they could have given us some hints from earlier episodes that he was willing to change. If they had shown this in small scenes, it would have been more believable. It felt very sudden to me while watching. I didn't like Ken, and suddenly they tried to portray him as a child with no other options. Many people liked him, of course, but I still don't like him. The series generally takes the same idealistic approach as Jan. At the end of the series, everyone is happy and everything is painted in rosy colors. Sure, these kids are in high school and their lives are continuing, but that's how life is, not everything has to be perfect. For example, I would have preferred Shin not to return to soccer. As far as I remember, that's how it was in the original version. His leg was permanently damaged and his soccer career was completely over. This may sound very cruel, but I think it would have been more realistic if it had been like the original. Also, Shin's words at the beginning of the series, “My future is over because of you,” would have had more weight. Anyway, it was a great series either way. SkyNani is truly my number one couple right now. I'm eagerly awaiting any series featuring two of them. Thanks for the reaction. It was so much fun to watch it again with you.
