What Brings Us Together - Page 1 (SD)

I'm beyond excited to post this first page of our super special issue. This has been a big work in progress as the three of us get acclimated to our process, and heck, it was just a lot of work in general, but sooooo worth it. I highly encourage you to view this at full size. There's so much wonderful detail in every panel that zooming in makes apparent.

Anyway, I'll let the page do the rest of the talking. I'm stoked to introduce Masako and Mayu and... well, grandpa Colson to the world!

EDIT: Dialogue change, panel 3. Thanks to a helpful conversation with Regdeh, I realized that Mayu's usage of "ojiisan" referring to Colson as being her grandfather is unlikely to have been used by a 4 year old Japanese girl. They would be using more childish less formal language. Some research shows that the better choice would be jiiji. Mayu takes a quick liking to Toby's family, so I picture her using terms with a high level of familiarity and comfort already. Oh, the perils of trying to ensure you're getting all the pieces of Japanese culture and language right when you're not Japanese yourself!
