Today's prompt is Dwarf.....
This is a creature formerly known as a Dwarf. Better known as Dhvaras, Dwezgaz, Dwergaz, Dhole, or Bhole.
Long ago during the Nephilim wars, one of the most powerful Nephilim was the Jotun known as the mighty Ymir. Wielding the powerful frost of Ragnarok through it's veins, a celestial power which allowed it to break down reality and reset enemies as well as invoke endless fimbulwinter across the world. Ymir led the nephilim as their leader for a long time, uniting many of the giants together, and even bringing together the fire giants along with the Jotun to face their foes. When the Accursed Vermin fell from the sky and devastated the land, followed by the falling of the sleeper of N'kai, Ymir created a massive fimbulwinter which encompassed the planet, and battled these creatures with it's armies, and was even joined by the Progenitor during this battle along with the earliest kin of the Nephilim, Adam, Eve, Cain, and Able. The battle was hard fought, however the creatures were made to retreat, but the mighty Chixulub infested Ymir with it's burrowing young, they were frozen and kept dormant by the power of ragnarok however.
Not long after, the Heavenly ones, a group of gods of Urth, breeched the dimensions to lay claim to the lands of Earth, and clashed with Ymir and his army. Though the battle was great, eventually Odin felled the mighty giant and many of his Jotun.
In the festering wounds of Ymir as he lie dying, The young of Chixulub began to thaw and feed on the wavering cosmic power of ragnarok and on the blood of the celestials. These flesh eating worms known as the Dhvaras gathered power from the giant and grew faces to scream in anguish as it once did. They feasted and learned of the power of the universe, growing intelligent and learning to steal names from Ragnarok, that which resets. These worms, granted a new godlike strength from feeding on the dead titan scattered into the planet, to rest and feed, burrowing deep into the world and sleeping, but hollowing out large portions of the planet as their creator had done. They hibernated for many years, and upon being awakened found humans had claimed the planet and were at war with the Fae. The Dhvaras began to clash with either side within the war, claiming the planet for themselves and their father, the leaping nightmare of the crater.
The Dhvaras would wield minor powers of ragnarok, allowing them minor creation, but also the ability to breathe a cold wind that would flay flesh and age it 1,000 years, or reduce it to sperm and eggs, all at once and everywhere on a creature, causing them to wither to old age and regress to childhood in a single breath. They possessed great intelligence, and extreme speed, able to burrow swiftly into the planet and reach another continent in a matter of hours. They also possessed mastery over Earth and they could consume the dirt and minerals and transform them into other materials, while also emitting a nuclear radiation which made creatures around them wither and die. They captured humans and fae alike, however the radiation would transform them, or kill them, and so the Dhvaras set out to create a servitor race to follow them and work within the planet, mining minerals, gems, and excavating the body of their creator. These creatures were first created through imbuing their own flesh with the power of the ragnarok and binding them to the human or fae slaves, creating a race of hunched, tentacled and nigh faceless things that would grunt and chant. They could dig and were quite powerful to also use as soldiers, however their base nature would occasionally rush through them and cause them to act out, or their bodies would not completely become immune to the radiation and they would mutate into fleshy lumps. They would also require sustenance through blood and flesh. These creatures, dubbed Dweorg or Dvergr, were used for some time, until the Dhvaras created a new race, born of the hewn stone and forged of ragnarok, these would resemble the humans and would be crafted of the stone themselves, squat and powerful, but they would be slave workers for the Dhvaras.
These new creations aided the Dhvaras in conquering much of the underground and they pushed against the creatures above with their armies of stone servitors and their Dweorg. The ability to wield steel made the fae weak to their attacks, and so they planned a counter attack against the Dhvaras. The Gnomes, masters of the earth, infiltrated the ranks of the Dhvara, and were successful in stealing their name, causing them to be Dhvara now, where before they were called Dwarves. They granted the race name to the un named servitor race crafted by them and in gaining their name, they gained freedom by the hands of the Fae, and so the stony humanoid creatures now known as Dwarves joined the Fae in their battle against man, a great and powerful foe as the dwarves possess no weakness to iron that the faries have...
Though the Dhvaras had their names stolen and were weakened, they were called by many other names around the world, and so they still possessed a sense of power among them. Their servitors, the Dweorg still fight for them, and though many of the Dhvara have gone into hibernation or escaped to the Dreamlands or Urth in search of a way to recover their true names, the Dweorg remain...
Other creatures ally themselves with the Dhvara, such as those who gather the power of the worm that walks. Though they may also be in opposition to the Dhvara as they often clash with the gutworms of the meat mother, treating eachother as an invasive species or a competitor species....
